{"id":10518,"date":"2024-12-11T11:45:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-11T10:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.hevyapp.com\/?post_type=features&#038;p=10518"},"modified":"2026-01-13T09:30:53","modified_gmt":"2026-01-13T08:30:53","slug":"how-to-write-sets-and-reps","status":"publish","type":"features","link":"https:\/\/www.hevyapp.com\/features\/how-to-write-sets-and-reps\/","title":{"rendered":"Add and Remove Sets"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2>How to Add and Remove Sets<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you\u2019ve added an exercise to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hevyapp.com\/features\/gym-routines\/\">a routine<\/a> (reusable workout template) or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hevyapp.com\/features\/track-workouts\/\">live workout<\/a> you are logging (with the stopwatch active at the top left), you can tap the grey <strong>+ Add Set<\/strong> button as many times as needed to add one or more sets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, when you add an exercise you\u2019ve done before, the number of sets, the weight, and the reps you\u2019ve done before are automatically added, but you\u2019re free to adjust them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To remove a set, swipe left on a set to reveal the red <strong>Delete<\/strong> button. Alternatively, click on the number of the set in the <strong>SET<\/strong> column on the left and tap <strong>Remove Set<\/strong>. Under <strong>KG<\/strong> or <strong>LBS<\/strong> (depending on your preference in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hevyapp.com\/features\/workout-settings\/\">settings<\/a>), you can write a weight target for each set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hevyapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Img-4368-4369-1-1024x683.png\" alt=\"an overview of the ability to prescribe a weight for each set and pick KG or LBS in Hevy\" class=\"wp-image-10557\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hevyapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Img-4368-4369-1-1024x683.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.hevyapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Img-4368-4369-1-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/www.hevyapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Img-4368-4369-1-768x512.png 768w, https:\/\/www.hevyapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Img-4368-4369-1.png 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Next to it, you can write repetition targets for each set under <strong>REPS<\/strong>. Tap the <strong>REPS<\/strong> text to switch between repetitions and rep ranges.
